18th June 2014
On Monday 16 June we held a joint seminar on employee ownership with the Department of Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the Employee Ownership Association. As well as giving an overview of the main forms of employee ownership and an introduction to the new tax reliefs intended to encourage more companies to become employee-owned, we were fortunate to have three excellent, practical presentations from companies that already are employee-owned.
If you are interested in this topic but were unable to attend and would a copy of the speakers’ notes, please contact Pam Farrance firstname.lastname@example.org
The purpose of the event was to raise awareness of employee ownership in the UK , to explain what it involves and to hear the practical experiences of three employee-owned companies that have either recently transitioned to employee ownership or have been employee-owned on a long term basis:
Wise Investments, investment managers
Clearcut Sound, a commercial sound recording studio
CH2M Hill, international environment and engineering consultants
We are grateful to all the speakers, who without exception gave highly engaging presentations, and to the delegates, who asked many searching questions.
