In October 2014 Mike retired from the business and Mike Stoane Lighting became employee owned, with the majority of the shares in the company held in a trust for the benefit of the employees.
MSL was one of the first companies to take advantage of the Employee Ownership Trust structure, (EOT), introduced in the 2014 Finance Act.
The Management Team wanted the company’s ethos and passion for what they do to remain the same. Fullfilling Mike’s aim of finding a better and more rewarding way to work by manufacturing great things, locally in Scotland.
