Celebrating Employee Ownership with Haworth Tompkins

The north London-based practice was founded in 1991 and won the Stirling Prize in 2014 for the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool.

The building cleverly incorporates bricks reclaimed from the dismantled walls of the older original building.

Last year it completed a restoration of London’s Battersea Arts Centre.

Employee ownership is becoming increasingly popular with UK architecture businesses with 15 of the top 100 practices now employee owned.  Haworth Tompkins are 55% employed owned as part of a 10-year succession plan for the founding owners Graham Haworth and Steve Tompkins.
